Healthy Grilling Recipes

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Both Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends always bring back memories of going up to the mountains and doing a bunch of boating, hiking, and grilling. This year, however, this weekend means time for Bry and me to take a few seconds to just breathe. It feels like we’ve been going and going with him starting a new job, me still working full-time while also searching for a new job, and both of us preparing for the move. Throw in a bunch of fun things like weddings, graduations, parties, and trying to see everyone before we move and you have two very tired people. But just because we’ll be staying put this Memorial Day weekend does not mean that we won’t be firing up the grill 😉 To give you some inspiration, here are a few of my favorite grilling recipes on The Healthy Toast!

So here’s a toast to firing up the grill this weekend!

Meat and Poultry

Grilled Avocado Fiesta Chicken – these make for a delicious low-carb meal or an even tastier cheesy sandwich 😉

Housewarming Turkey Burgers – developed for our housewarming party almost 2 years ago, these were a hit with our friends and family.

Juicy Bison Burgers – if you haven’t tried bison yet, now’s the time. Leaner and juicier than beef, it’ll be a hit at your Memorial Day cookout!

Mojito Chicken Tacos – inspired by my all-time favorite drink, these tacos are all about summery flavors!

White Pizza with Chicken and Blackberry Balsamic Glaze – this pizza remains one of my favorite recipes on the blog. The sweet-yet-sourness of the blackberry glaze just goes so perfectly with the savory chicken and melted cheese.



Cauliflower Steaks – whether you make these as a side-dish or a vegetarian main event, these seasoned cauliflower steaks will have you wanting seconds!


Grilled Vegetable Stuffed Peppers – this vegetarian classic tastes just as good (if not better) on the grill than in the oven.

Grilled Tempeh Bahn Mi – this sandwich is all about the balance of flavors and will make even your meat-eating friends happy.



Peanut Butter Cup Banana Foil Packets – not the prettiest of desserts, but these peanut butter and chocolate-stuffed grilled bananas are a deliciously messy ending to a great night of grilling.

Skinny Affogato okay, not a grilling recipe, but ice cream and grilling just go so well together that I couldn’t leave it out 😉
