Jazz up lunch with this fruity twist to traditional PB&J’s. Almond butter, honey, and peach sandwiches are kid-friendly and simple to make.
This is one of those posts where I debated whether it’s too simple to post.
But then I remembered that the whole point of this blog is to provide simple, healthy recipes to add some variety to your meals.
I love peanut butter sandwiches, with or without jelly.
I’m one of those people who wanted my PB&J to be oozing with peanut butter and have just a slight spread of jelly.
I also loved using banana slices instead of jelly or sometimes just a simple drizzle of honey on top of the peanut butter.
About a year ago I discovered the deliciousness of almond butter and banana sandwiches.
And it got me thinking about other fruits that would be delicious with almond butter. Blueberries were an obvious favorite, but I was surprised to find how much I like the peach and almond butter combo.
My favorite way to eat this almond butter, honey, and peach sandwich is open-faced on toasted sourdough bread.
For both the almond butter and honey, I used brands that I discovered at our local Farmer’s Market.
I love supporting local businesses, and have found the quality of these to be better than store bought.
