5 Most Popular Recipes of 2016

Only two days left in 2016! As I mentioned in my previous post, it’s crazy to think of all the huge changes that happened in my life this year, including starting The Healthy Toast. The blog isn’t quite a year old yet, but with the New Year almost here, I felt it fitting to share with you the most popular (aka most visited) recipes on the blog. Happy (almost) New Year!! 

#5. Thai Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes – if you love sweet potatoes and peanut sauce then you’ll fall head-over-heels for these! While I made them vegetarian by using tofu, they would also be delicious with seasoned chicken. 

#4. White Pizza with Chicken and Blackberry Balsamic Glaze – this is one of my favorite recipes on the blog and was so excited to see that you all agree! I love fruit on pizza as it provides such a nice contrast to the salty cheese and savory chicken. While our favorite way to prepare it is on the grill, we’ve also made it a handful of times in the oven and find it just as addicting. 

#3. Balsamic Roasted Cherry Tomatoes – these tomatoes prove that sometimes the simplest recipes are the tastiest. While I initially made them to go in zucchini boats, I couldn’t stop eating them straight off the roasting pan and have since made a few batches simply to snack on. 

#2. Guinness Beef Stew – I thought for sure this recipe would have been #1. This was one of my first posts (as you can tell by the picture quality) and I remember being so excited about how much attention it got when it first came out – my first post to get over 1,000 views in one day! But what has made me even happier is that it continues to get views almost daily. So don’t wait until St. Patrick’s day to indulge in this Irish-inspired stew! 


#1. Berry French Toast Casserole – I was so surprised this was #1! Not because it isn’t delicious, after all, it’s baked french toast, but it was one of those posts where I didn’t plan on taking pictures and doing a post on it. I had just bought pretty new baking pans and wanted an excuse to use them, so I figured I’d bake up a breakfast casserole. Then when I took it out of the oven, it just looked to pretty not to take pictures of it, and when I tasted it I knew without a doubt it had to be shared.
