Raspberry Almond Protein Smoothie

This cool and creamy raspberry almond protein smoothie makes for a nutritious post-workout treat.

Before we get to the recipe, I want to introduce you to the new look of The Healthy Toast! It’s been a year since starting the blog (I know, crazy how fast that went) and I’ve been itching to make some adjustments. Now that I’ve learned more about photography (my early posts have some seriously embarrassing photos. . .will be updating those soon), I wanted to showcase my pictures more and give you more places to click and find delicious recipes. Besides the homepage getting a makeover, I also gave my Recipe Index a facelift and cleaned up my About and Work With Me pages. Finally, I went through and cleaned out my recipe index of any posts that aren’t up to my current standards. Yes, there are still pictures that need re-doing, but I didn’t want to keep any recipes up that I’m not 100% proud of.

So please click around and let me know of anything you love, miss, or wish worked differently 🙂

Now, I don’t know about you, but after a tough workout I like to feel that I’m giving my body healthy, energizing fuel. And usually there’s nothing that makes me feel more satisfied than a smoothie or smoothie bowl. While there are a bunch of smoothie combinations out there, after expending all my energy working out I just want to keep things simple. And that’s exactly what this smoothie is: simple fruit + protein + milk. Nothing earth-shatteringly new or ingredients that are had to find.

In order to make this an almond-flavored smoothie you will need almond extract, which is a staple in my house (if you haven’t added it to pancakes yet you are seriously missing out), but a vanilla raspberry smoothie is also delicious if you only have vanilla extract at home.

I also love how pretty this smoothie is thanks to the raspberries – perfect with Valentine’s Day tomorrow 😉

So here’s a toast to giving your body the fuel it needs after a workout!
